The Orange Beach Public Library arranges non-fiction books according to the Dewey Decimal System of Classification. (Most public libraries in the United States use this system.) In this system, human knowledge is divided into 10 major categories and each of these categories is assigned a range of numbers (e.g. 100s = Philosophy, 500s = Pure Science).
