Technology Classes

Our Technology classes are designed for beginning to intermediate computer users. Because these classes are held in our Meeting Room (not the computer lab), you are encouraged to bring your own laptop if you would like to practice during class.

No registration is necessary for fall classes, but winter classes (January, February & March) require registration.

Encyclopedias

Encyclopaedia Brittanica - Free statewide access is provided through the Alabama Virtual Library. If you are asked for a user ID and password, please contact the library for assistance.

Encyclopedia of Alabama - online reference resource for Alabama history, culture, geography and natural environment (content includes video, audio, & graphics)

Dictionaries

Acronym Finder from Mountain Data Systems - Find definitions of more than 214,000 abbreviations and acronyms.

Storytelling

Fables

These are very old folk stories that explain the creation of our world or how we should behave.

One of the most popular fables is The Tortise and the Hare, one of Aesop's Fables. Aesop was a slave who lived during the time of the Greek Empire (a very long time ago) and recorded many of the popular folk tales of his lifetime. These stories usually end with a statement of the moral (or important message) of the story.
