Readers theater "84 Charing Cross Road"
The best stories are the true ones, and 84 Charing Cross Road is truly one of a kind. Helene Hanff, a struggling writer in New York City wrote a letter to a book shop in London's famed Charing Cross Road, wanting nothing more than a few decent volumes she was unable to find in pre WW2 Manhatten. She was unaware that she was beginning a 20 year correspondence with a marvellous collection of people... or that she would find a kindred spirit across the water. This beloved collection of letters, originally published in 1970 has been adapted for the stage by OBPL's own Seth Bowling, who embodies a cast of unforgettable characters from both sides of the Atlantic Ocean, all bound together by a love of reading and a passion for books.
