The Friends of the Orange Beach Public Library is a volunteer, non-profit organization, whose efforts are directed towards promoting increased interest and involvement in the library.
Friends scheduled events are designed to foster public support for the development of services for the library through financial contributions. Donations are made to the library based on the “wish list” of the staff.
Meetings are held the second Wednesday of the month at 10a.m. in the meeting room of the library.
Membership forms are available at the library. Please make checks to Friends of the Orange Beach Library and mail to P.O. Box 158, Orange Beach, AL 36561, or you can leave it with staff at the library.
Dues are for one year: October 1-September 30.

A fundraiser on an ongoing basis that helps pave the way to knowledge. You may make a donation in honor/memory of a person, organization, or beloved family pet, by purchasing an engraved brick which is permanently placed in the terrace at the rear of the library overlooking Wolf Bay. The terrace provides a peaceful place for all of us to enjoy.

The event is held the second week in October where members and guests have an opportunity to mingle with each other and the invited presenting authors.
The Friends decorate the library for the holidays and hold an Open House the first week in December. This is an opportunity to recognize the efforts of the library staff and others in the community that have offered their support.
Usually held the second week in January at the Orange Beach Community Center. This event is the Friend’s biggest fundraiser. Books, tapes, DVD’s may be dropped off at the library anytime during the year.
Members are asked to bring a salad or dessert to this event which is held during the Spring. All members are encouraged to bring a guest. A guest speaker is scheduled. The event is designed to increase membership and participation.
This is held at the October meeting where new officers are elected and dues are due for the upcoming year.
